The Work Starlight Do

If you haven't already heard of the Starlight Foundation from their recent TV series, then let us enlighten you to the work they do.

Starlight brightens the lives of seriously and terminally ill children by granting them once-in-a-lifetime wishes and providing entertainment for children in hospitals and hospices throughout the United Kingdom.

All Starlight’s activities are aimed at distracting children from the pain, fear and isolation they can often feel as a result of their illnesses.

Together with healthcare professionals, Starlight have developed a programme of year-round entertainment and distraction which helps over 500,000 children every year who are hospitalised for whatever reason. Sick children cheer, boo and hiss their way through Starlight Pantomimes, forget their pain and worry at Starlight Parties, play games and watch films on Starlight Fun Centres, take their minds off treatment with Starlight Distraction Boxes, and enjoy much-needed breaks from hospital on Starlight Escapes.

There are many, many great charities out there that deserve help and support, but, for us at least, this is the most worthwhile cause we have seen.

As well as providing our services free of charge to help them with their website and marketing, we will be hosting all manner of fundraising activities through the year and at Christmas. You never know, we still yet persuade Phil (the MD) to dress up as Santa (he has the waistband for it already, just needs a beard and perhaps a red suit though we wouldn't be surprised if he had one of them kicking about).
